Bio

I’ve been a music enthusiast for almost as long as I can remember. I had my musical ‘awakening’ while watching the Live Aid concerts on television in 1985 and I spent the rest of the 1980s listening to bands like Ultravox, New Order and Depeche Mode.
I began writing my own music in the 1990’s, after getting a birthday gift of an acoustic guitar. I started recording my songs a number of years ago. Having played some early tracks for friends, I received very positive responses and was encouraged to take things futher.
The ‘…I Am’ EP started life as a loose collection of songs that I wanted to demo. I met with Bruno at Open Ear Productions and he suggested that well-known producer Garry O’Briain should listen to the tracks. Garry liked the songs and we recorded them over an extended period at his studio in New Quay, Co. Clare.
This EP showcases 4 of my compositions and features contributions from a number of Irish & International musicians. Bláithín Kearney, a local writer, singer and pianist, provides vocals on a number of the tracks. Others involved in the project were Paul Johnson, Luis Asturias and Adrian Mantu. The two singles taken from ‘… I Am’ were released in 2010 and enjoyed very positive reviews and extensive radio airtime.
Work has started on a new album, due for release next summer. There will be 10 songs, a number of which have already been demoed. The 1st single from the album will be ‘We’ve Come a Long Way (Me andYou)’ and it should be out in March 2012.
