…I AM (EP)

All of the songs here have a personal resonance for me and provide a ‘soundtrack’ to different periods in my life…..
Come To Me
I wrote this song for our eldest daughter. I went back to college as a mature student when Emma was just 9-months old. There were a lot of weekends I wasn’t around and lots of bathtimes and bedtimes I missed out on. I tried my best to let Emma (and later, her siblings) know that I was never too far away. I take lead vocals on this track and Bláithín Kearney provides additional vocals.
The Boy Means Nothing To Me
This track was written on Rosslare Strand on one of those rare sunny summer days. The song tells its own story….. It features Bláithín on vocals.
Everything I Am
There is little popular music that examines the relationship between parents and their children. These relationships can often be difficult but usually prove to be the ones that shape us most. It’s only now, having children of my own, that I realise how much my Mum and Dad did (and still do!) for me. This song was written for and dedicated to my parents.
The Jewel That Was Ours
The Jewel That Was Ours is about love lost and the trials and tribulations of relationships. The title is borrowed from a Colin Dexter novel and has always struck me as very evocative.
